Our story

How we became Canberra’s go-to builder.

Refined Building was born from a commitment to creating homes that truly reflect the families who live in them. As a Canberra local, our Managing Director Josh Sammak understood the unique challenges of building in the ACT. He saw how stressful and complex the process could be for homeowners, and he knew he could deliver results for his clients while easing their anxieties.

With over 13 years of experience and more than 150 successful projects under our belt, we’ve tackled everything from simple bathroom updates to complex ‘Mr Fluffy’ block rebuilds. Each project has taught us valuable lessons, honed our skills, and strengthened our commitment to open, honest communication with our clients.

Our mission is simple: help Canberra families create their forever homes, stress-free.
